'What unexpected turns life sometimes takes!' First published in 1917, The Return of Arsène Lupin is Leblanc's twenty-second novel featuring the iconic hero-thief, Arsène Lupin, and his roguish tales of adventure. Long presumed dead after a long period of inactivity, the gentleman burglar Arsène Lupin makes a triumphant return to solve the disappearance of a small fortune. Set in Paris during the Second World War, Lupin's investigation leads him to Captain Patrice Beval and his love, Coralie, a volunteer nurse who valiantly helped save Beval's life. Lupin soon learns that Coralie is in danger and, after a bloody murder case, is determined to protect Coralie and Beval from the sinister culprit afoot – while finding the missing gold, of course. Masterfully blending mystery, fantasy and suspense, The Return of Arsène Lupin is a classic crime story, told with Leblanc's trademark wit and charm. This audiobook edition is brilliantly narrated by Rupert Degas. Maurice Leblanc (1864 – 1941) was a French journalist, novelist and short story writer. He was primarily known for inventing the fictional thief Arsène Lupin, often considered the French counterpart to Sherlock Holmes.
